I'm very encouraged by the direction the board has been moving in and the caliber of the people who've become involved in MARC leadership over the last few years. I would be honored to become a part of this group and assist in any way I am able to.
I'm known as McsGuy on RCGroups and JetManJoe around the club. My interest is in fast EDF's and high caliber batteries (www.LipoTesting.com). I started scratch building u-control in 1969 some years after learning to fly the iconic Cox PT-19 .049. My state of the art Kraft 5 channel and I entered my first pattern competition around 1973 flying a Lanier something or other with an Enya .60 Glow engine (if I didn't place last I was close to it). I left the hobby in the 80's to build a career in industrial automation, sales and engineering. I became active again around 2005 just as Lipo batteries stated replacing NiMH, joined the club and have been active ever since.
My interest is in helping the up coming generation learn what our hobby has to offer and influencing the field's improvement direction.

I feel truly fortunate to have discovered a hobby and a community that has brought me so much joy in so many ways. Though I’ve only been flying for four years, in that short time I’ve formed lasting friendships, learned continuously, and grown both as a pilot and as a person. I am proud to be a member at Marymoor.
I’ve tried to give back wherever I can by creating dozens of build videos for Twisted Hobbys, being a moderator at reddit.com/r/RCPlanes and creating a precision flying contest that I’m excited to run at Marymoor. My journey started with scratch-built foamboard planes and quickly led me to balsa aerobatic models. Along the way I’ve flown EDFs (often unsuccessfully), warmliners, lightweight indoor planes, and even competed in IMAC with big gas-powered models. My favorite plane is always the one I’m currently flying.
From my very first day at Marymoor, board members welcomed and encouraged me. I hope we can keep nurturing that same open, supportive spirit for everyone who joins us.
I would be honored to represent our membership and put my graphic-design skills to work strengthening the club’s brand identity. I’m also interested in helping to establish an indoor flying venue and schedule, so we have a reliable alternative when fall, winter, and spring weather make outdoor flying difficult.
Thank you for your consideration!

Model aviation has been a part of my life for over 50 years. Turning pieces of wood into flying machines and seeing them take flight never loses its appeal. I enjoy spending time in my workshop and at the airfield, but most of all I value the friendships this hobby creates. Whether helping fellow pilots, sharing stories, learning from one another, or simply enjoying a day outdoors, MaR/C has been an important part of my life since I joined in 2015.
Serving on the MaR/C Board for the past six years has been both an honor and a rewarding experience. During that time, I have served as Membership Chair, Vice President, and Treasurer, while also working with King County Parks, supporting special events, building the new hanger, and helping with airfield improvement projects. I am seeking reelection to help ensure that MaR/C continues to thrive at Marymoor as a safe, fun, and educational club for pilots of all ages. I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our members and promoting the tremendous value our club brings to the community.

Dear Club Members,
If we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, you may recognize me as the guy who spent several hours on the microphone at our June airshow. If we haven’t met, please come introduce yourself!
I’m Corey, and I’ve been a member of this great club for more than a decade. I’m a growth marketer by trade, and I’ve always believed in the power of showing people what our hobby has to offer.
Last winter, I approached the board with an idea and a pitch deck to transform our open house into a public-facing airshow. The result was an event we can all be proud of. My long-term goal is to make our annual airshow the second-largest event in the park, behind only its marquee summer concert.
Having traveled and competed with scale aircraft at clubs across the state, I know how fortunate we are to have our flying field, facilities, and incredible location. Protecting and growing what we have depends on our membership, while also strengthening our relationships with the park, the AMA, and the broader community.
My own passion lies in scale building, flying, and competition. You’ll often find me in my garage surrounded by a laser cutter and an unreasonable amount of wood scraps. I’d also love to help foster more building within our club, because learning to build strengthens nearly every other aspect of the hobby.
I’m asking for your vote for the board so I can continue helping grow our club, strengthen our community relationships, and build on the success of our annual airshow.
I’d be honored to serve.
Thank you
